Just wanted to say hi to everyone. We had a 12.5 hour flight yesterday from Vancouver to Hong Kong... and then 3.5 hours from Hong Kong on to Singapore. We made the connection but our checked bag did not, so they told us to take a later flight because of security issues with baggage on the flight or whatever. Anyways, we spent $75 and 6 hours at the Transit hotel in Singapore. We are feeling refreshed and rested and ready for our 1 hour flight from Singapore to Yogyakarta, Indonesia (on the island of Java).
We hope to see some ruins tomorrow and then head on to Mt. Bromo which is a days travel away from Yogya... and then it's on to Bali where it will turn into the first real vacation we have taken in a long time. Some of you are thinking, what the heck, Stef and Pete go on vacation every year... but really when we travel, it is not actually vacation. It is a lot of long days, sweaty bus rides and very little time spent at each destination. So pretty much, I cannot wait to get to Bali, of course I will enjoy the ride along the way though! We have always wanted to get here.
More updates to come! Ciao for now!
Some things are too good not to share. Most things aren't. But I will tell you anyway.

Korea Flashback
Lots of updates coming soon as we will be moving into our new place this week... I am starting a new job... and we are now only a month away from our escape to Indonesia!
But for now I wanted to post an email from one of Pete's Korean students! This is actually from "Camino," the boy who coined the name for me, "Spaghetti Teecha." Theres been some friendly banter back and forth between him and Pete recently, so here's the email he sent today. It's fun to know that we haven't been forgotten despite our terribly unprepared, awful teaching over there.......
I feel also happy to hearing your news a lot.
Wow. You married Stephanie? Amazing!
Very much~ Congratulation!
Wow, yeah, time passed a lot. And my command of English's much better than before.
I can't understand your words at the old days, but now I can see almost all. admirable, isn't it?
But The curriculum in Korea is a kind of teaching by rote, students can't write right English composition, as you know. So people should do it hard in their college life.
Wow, maybe It's my second year of middle school when we met first? maybe fifteen.
Now I'm 19 years old, so time flies fast. My birthday? It's April 15th. a short time ago.
I'm 18 years old in western age. It isn't long till my high school graduation. It's next February.
Maybe if I take CSAT(the College Scholastic Ability Test) well this year, I'd be a university student. And, though I already told you before, when I become a uni. student, I'll study English much harder and I'll visit your country. when that day, I hope you show me Canada.
When I go your house, there'll be you and Stephenie's house! Will you move into new house next week? you maybe look forward to it!
I eager for hearing the story about Indonesia. I'll visit your site next time.
Ah, I, as a test-taker, feel really hard to study. exhausted, stressful.
Differential equations, Integral Calculus etc. I think Math and English is the most different subjects.
When I enter Uni., I want to major in architecture or mechanical engineering. Will you teach me English again next time?
You also my brightest teacher.
p.s/ all of sentences are perfect! right ? Because I writed an korean letter to you and my school English teacher lead me to correct my wrong grammer !
So I could write a perfect letter !
p.s2 / Maybe, I infer that you might be forgotten my face , I attach my pictures
I become more handsome!!! hahahaha ....Sorry :D
I look foward to your response!

Girls Weekend
Well since I started blogging tonight, I might as well keep going. February ended with a weekend escape with my college girlfriends. We all met in Phoenix, Arizona. Although the weather didn't turn out quite as hot as we hoped, we still managed to catch a Giant's spring training game and take a day trip out to Sedona. We stayed at the beautiful Biltmore hotel and had a great time hanging out and catching up. Once again, I will let the pictures do the talking...

February
I thought I'd better post something since the short little month of February is just about over....
I have been taking a photography class every Wednesday with Rebecca. We are learning lots about taking pictures with our fancy cameras, and we have a great teacher... which helps a lot since the class is from 7 to 10 at night. I thought I'd share some of the stuff we've been up to.
Last Sunday we took a trip to Granville Island. I wasn't impressed with what I came up with, but here's some of the better ones:

something to ponder......
This quote was read at the end of my yoga class last night. I appreciated it, hopefully you will too.
We humans have existed in our present form for about a hundred thousand years. I believe that if during this time the human mind had been primarily controlled by anger and hatred, our overall population would have decreased. But today, despite all our wars, we find that the human population is greater than ever. This clearly indicates to me that love and compassion predominate in the world. And this is why unpleasant events are "news"; compassionate activities are so much a part of daily life that they are taken for granted and , therefore, largely ignored. ~Dalai Lama~
He really has a way of saying so much with just a few sentences.
Happy February :)
