January

So far 2011 has started out really well! After Christmas we left California without our dog... lucky girl got an extended vacation in California with her Grandparents, Uncle Dan and Uncle Tuck. Pete and I realized that while we are able to leave the house much faster in her absence, that was really the only benefit. Dog makes life complete. Thankfully my parents brought her back to us when Alaska Airlines lifted the holiday pet embargo. She arrived in one piece no worse for ware and ready to meet the latest addition to the Toigo family. Scout. Ron and Michele's brand new Sheltie puppy. Ernie ignored the pup at first and ran around their house sniffing frantically, but after 5 minutes she and Scout were circling the couch like they had been friends forever. And so it goes...

While my parents were here, we didn't do much but watch hockey and go out for dinner. We even made it down to Seattle for a Giants game where they got to meet up with their friends who live in Seattle. It was a fun evening and was worth the late night drive back home. My dad managed to snap this picture of the eagle on a log outside our house one rainy day...

I just returned from an awesome weekend in Boston. I went out to visit Dan and Nicole, who we met while teaching in Korea. The weather was REALLY cold but I can't complain because my flights almost went without a hitch and I didn't get stuck anywhere. It was so great to visit them and their beautiful baby girl. It's a great feeling to be able to see each other after months and months and then pick up right where we left off.  I didn't manage to take pictures of our ridiculously fun night out on Friday at a German bar complete with a piano player and a sing along... but I got some great shots of Maizie over the weekend.  I miss them already and I can't wait to go back with Pete next time.

Condo Update

Our unit is closed to being finished, but they are still working on the road and the units on the lower floors. I think we will be moving in at the end of March or the beginning of April.  Not long now. Here are the latest pictures of our place!
