It is hard to believe June is almost over... it's been such a busy month, but busy with all kinds of good things going on!
First thing's first- Ollie is walking like a champ and I am LOVING it. He had been taking steps for quite some time, and then all of the sudden one morning he started getting himself up from the floor and taking off. He is such a clingy guy, it has actually gotten much easier on my growing pregnant body to have him walk on his own. He still likes to be held and carried around, but it's getting to be less and less... thank goodness because he is a really big kid! And yes, he's obviously into more stuff, but for now he doesn't stray too far from me.
Ollie and I went to California for 10 days earlier this month to visit family one last time before baby #2 arrives. We were there for about a week and then Pete came down to celebrate his 30th birthday. My sweet friends showed him a wonderful time in San Francisco and he had a fabulous time eating and drinking the day away. The trip was pretty relaxing and it was really nice to share Ollie and all of his goodness with family and friends. I even got to watch Dan's latest plays- I hadn't seen one in ages and I was overdue. With the exception of a couple nights, Ollie slept really well and he did great on the airplane both down and back.
What might you ask was Pete doing while we were gone for a week? He caught a baseball game in Seattle and managed to get a few rounds of golf in- but I also know he worked a lot and most importantly... he MOVED us. Yes, with the help of family and friends and a set of movers for a couple hours, he moved every single last item out of our condo and into our brand new beautiful house. What a huge job that was.
I was suuuper stressed about it and felt really guilty for not being there. But I probably would have done too much if I was and having Ollie around would have really slowed us down. Once we were home from California and I saw the task that lay ahead of me, I didn't feel so guilty anymore ;) How in the heck did we acquire SO MUCH STUFF in the two years that we lived in a 1200 square foot condo? Seriously? We've been here for a week and I've been chipping away at things little by little each day. The more that gets done, the more wonderful the house looks and feels. I love being in a house and it has made things so much easier. The timing worked out great too- Ollie now can adjust to his new space before the next big change in his life happens. Although, he hasn't really seemed too phased by the move and he loves running around in his new big room.
I am moving into my third and final trimester. I seriously cannot believe it. On one hand I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER (maybe because there were only 9 months between the time Ollie was born and pregnancy round 2, yikes!). On the other hand, I cannot believe we will be a family of four in just a few short months. We have a lot to do before then and our calendar has suddenly filled up with all kinds of stuff for the months of July and August.... Despite all of this, our biggest job (which it always is) is to enjoy these last few months with just our one little boy.
